When buying wires, the first thing to look at is two aspects: conductors and insulation.

1. Conductors

High-quality copper is called "red copper" or "red copper" - the color of this copper is red, purple, and purple-red.

The worse the copper, the lighter the color and the more yellow it is, which is called "brass".

2. Thickness

First of all, we must choose a color, and between the same colors, we can judge which is better and which is worse by comparing the thickness. If there is a conflict between color and thickness, remember to prioritize the choice according to the color, for example, between thinner copper and coarser brass, you should give preference to copper.

When the wires are the same, the thicker the conductor, the stronger the conductivity can be - when comparing the thickness, only the conductor should be compared, and the thickness of the insulation should not be added.

Second, the insulation layer

The insulation layer can not only prevent external factors from causing damage to the conductor (maintenance of the conductor), but also maintain the damage to the outside world after the conductor has a problem (insulation, flame retardant). To judge the quality of the insulation layer, the following three methods can generally be used:

1. Touch

If the appearance is rough, it proves that the production process of the insulation layer is poor, and it is easy to cause problems such as leakage.

If you press the insulation with your fingernails, if it can rebound quickly, it proves that the insulation layer is thick and resistant.

2. Bending

Take a piece of wire, bend it back and forth several times, and then straighten the wire for investigation. If there are no traces on the surface of the wire, it proves that the wire is more resistant. If the surface of the wire has obvious indentation and severe whitishness, it proves that the wire resistance is poor.

3. Burn

Use the lighter to continue burning against the wire until the wire insulation catches fire. Then turn off the lighter and start the timer – if the wire can go off automatically within 5 seconds, it proves that the wire is flame retardant. Otherwise, it proves that the wire flame retardant can be unqualified, and the circuit is overloaded or the circuit is easy to cause fire.
