Weld quality grade classification

The weld should be selected according to the importance of the structure, the load characteristics, the form of the weld, the working environment and the stress condition, etc., according to the following principles:

1. In the components that need to be exhausted accounting, all butt welds should be welded through, and their quality grades are:

1) The transverse butt weld or the T-shaped butt and fillet joint combined weld with the force perpendicular to the length of the weld shall be the first level when under tension and the second level when compressed;

2) The longitudinal butt weld with the force parallel to the length of the weld should be secondary.

2. Among the components that do not need to account for fatigue, all butt welds that require strength such as the base metal should be welded through, and their quality grade should not be lower than two levels when they are under tension, and they should be two levels when they are compressed.

3. Heavy working system and lifting capacity Q≥50t between the web of the crane girder and the L Ji edge and between the chord and the gusset plate of the crane analysis frame are required to be welded through. The form of the weld is generally a combination of butt and corner joint, and its quality grade should not be lower than the second grade.

4. The quality grade of the fillet weld selected for the 'I' joint that does not require weld penetration or the butt and fillet joint combined weld of partial weld penetration, as well as the fillet weld selected for lap connection:

1) For the structure that directly accepts the dynamic load and needs to be tired from the verification and the crane lifting capacity is equal to or greater than 50t, the appearance quality standard of the weld should be in line with the second level;

2) For other structures, the appearance quality standard of the weld can be level 2.

The appearance of the inspection is generally visually inspected, the crack should be supplemented by a 5x magnifying glass and carried out under suitable lighting conditions, if necessary, magnetic particle testing or penetration testing can be selected, and the size of the measurement is measured using measuring tools and card gauges.
