Overhead monorail conveyors are used for internal transportation of production materials. It is necessary for the central control system to know the orientation of each conveyor belt on the road at all times. This is the only way to ensure transparency in production and to help quickly in the event of a problem.

The PXV Positive Positioning System consists of a read head and a Data Matrix code band, providing a solution for accurate positioning. When the tape is installed along the rail, the 2-D camera is mounted 100mm away from the conveyor belt (tolerances available). The Data Matrix code tape is read by a 2-D camera to obtain positive orientation information and output to the control system. With a width of only 25 mm, the strip is narrow enough to be easily mounted on the power path of a monorail conveyor. With a maximum measurement length of up to 100km, an azimuth resolution of ±0.2mm, and a read head running speed of up to 8m/s, the PXV system provides extremely high measurement accuracy and satisfies the requirements for positive azimuth positioning on long distances and chaotic trajectories.
