The hydraulic motor is fixedly connected to the housing, and the oil propulsion rotor entering from the port rotates around a central point. This slow-rotating rotor drives the output through a splined shaft called a cycloidal hydraulic motor. After the advent of this early cycloid motor, another concept of motor began to take shape through decades of evolution. At the end of the 50s of the 19th century, the low-speed high-torque hydraulic motor was developed from a stator and rotor component of the oil pump, which consisted of an internal ring gear and a matching gear or rotor.
The gear hydraulic motor has poor dry sealing, low rental power, no high input oil pressure, and no large torque. And the instantaneous speed and torque change with the position of the meshing point, so the gear hydraulic motor is only suitable for high-speed and small torque occasions. It is generally used in construction machinery, agricultural machinery and mechanical equipment with low requirements for torque uniformity.
Hydraulic motor traditionally refers to the energy conversion equipment that outputs rotary motion and converts the hydraulic energy supplied by the hydraulic pump into mechanical energy. The low-speed hydraulic motor refers to the hydraulic motor with relatively low speed but large output torque, which is mainly used in injection molding machinery, ships, construction machinery, construction machinery, coal mining machinery, mining machinery, metallurgical machinery, ship machinery, petrochemical industry, port machinery, etc.
In addition to valve distribution, other forms of axial piston pump can be used as hydraulic motors in principle, that is, the axial piston pump and axial piston motor are reversible. The operating principle of the axial piston motor is that the oil distribution plate and swash plate are fixed, and the motor shaft and the cylinder block are connected and rotated together. When the pressure oil enters the plunger hole of the cylinder body through the window of the oil distribution plate, the plunger is stretched out under the action of the pressure oil, and is close to the swash plate, and the swash plate has a normal reaction force p to the plunger, and this force can be decomposed into axial component and straight component Q. Q is balanced with the hydraulic pressure on the plunger, and Q causes the plunger to generate a torque in the center of the cylinder, driving the motor shaft to rotate in a counterclockwise direction. The instantaneous total torque that occurs in an axial piston motor is pulsating. If the input direction of the motor pressure oil is changed, the motor shaft rotates in a clockwise direction. The change of the inclination angle a of the swash plate, i.e. the change of displacement, not only affects the torque of the motor, but also affects its speed and steering. The larger the inclination angle of the swash plate, the greater the torque and the lower the speed.
