Zener barriers provide cost-effective explosion protection for a wide range of applications in process automation systems. The amount of energy transferred to a hazardous location is limited to a safe level that cannot ignite an explosive atmosphere.
The Z-system zener barrier (Pepperl+Fuchs) is mounted directly on a 35 mm DIN rail. With the accessory, the required grounding can be carried out directly on the DIN mounting rail.

The Z-System Zener barrier has a high density, up to 2 channels/12.5mm wide. Variants with field-replaceable fuses provide a convenient way to disconnect or open instrument loops without interfering with wiring, making commissioning and maintenance operations easier.
