Introduction: The Fisher 846 converter controller electrically outputs a signal that is converted into a pneumatic signal necessary to operate a control valve actuator or pneumatic positioner. The converter uses electronic feedback to correct for effects of errors, such as changes in supply pressure and downstream leakage.

Using the stroke port, continuous exhaust air is continuously exhausted from the pilot stage exhaust port through a hole in the module cover. Covering this hole increases the output of the converter, ensuring that the pilot and amplifier are working properly and that the actuator is being driven.
