Generally, when encountering the situation that the pressure transmitter has no output in the field, people always subconsciously think that there is something wrong with the pressure transmitter, but this damage only accounts for a small amount in practice.
In many applications, pressure transmitters can be used alone or in combination with other devices or systems, such as orifice plates, digital displays, flow meters, etc. The phenomenon that the transmitter does not output often occurs in the fault of cooperating with these equipment, and we can identify the cause of the fault through the following aspects:
1. The pressure transmitter is used in combination with the digital display meter, if the digital display table is not displayed at this moment, users will often say that the pressure transmitter has no output, but in fact, this problem usually appears on the digital display table. The first thing we have to do is to use a multimeter to directly measure the output of the pressure transmitter, measure whether the current value is 4-20mA, if the output of the pressure transmitter is normal, you can identify the digital display meter or connection problems. Users may make some fault-guided judgments about on-site faults, and we must first sweep away these interferences. Of course, when it is used in conjunction with other instruments, it is the same reason to measure the current with a multimeter first.
2. This point involves some basic understanding of the transmitter, we know that the general transmitter needs 24V power supply. If the pressure transmitter does not have an output, it is also necessary to consider whether the power supply is operating normally or whether the voltage value is normal. Of course, if the field is connected in parallel with the digital display or other appearance with a 24 V power supply, as in the first point, the normal equipment that can be connected in parallel can determine that the power supply is functioning properly. The above two aspects are the issues that need to be paid attention to when using the pressure transmitter alone.
3. If there is a 24V power supply with normal power supply, and the pressure transmitter has no output at this moment, you should check whether the power cord is reversed and whether the positive and negative poles are connected wrong
4. If the wiring is correct, you should check whether the whole circuit is disconnected, or check whether the appearance is not properly selected (the input impedance should be < 2500).
5. If the above check is normal, you can start to consider whether there is a problem with the hardware of the pressure transmitter. For example, if the circuit board of a pressure transmitter is burned due to faulty wiring of the power supply, the transmitter will not be displayed and will not output directly. For example, when the overload and withstand pressure of the selected pressure transmitter do not correspond to the site conditions, the overpressure may cause damage to the pressure transmitter components or the cause of the transmitter's non-output. In addition, due to the damage of the digital display part of the meter head, there is no display and no output on the spot, and the two wires of the meter head are directly short-circuited. If the short circuit is normal, the meter head is damaged.
