Turck's encoder range has been strategically expanded even further. We can now consider our customers to offer newer and faster encoders with IO-Link interfaces (COM 3, 230.4 kbps).
As part of Turck's strategy to expand its product portfolio, newer and faster IO-Link interface (COM3) encoders are now included in the industrial and universal product portfolios. Similarly, they are available in absolute singleturn/multiturn and shaft/sleeve types. This expansion is also closer to the professional line products, because the QR24 is now offering IO-Link products to customers, which also makes our IO-Link data plan even more complete.
Turck is one of the global market leaders in the field of IO-Link, and we are putting our expertise to work in our encoder products to create the highest quality IO-Link encoders on the market.
1 Transmission rate
We completed the latest IO-Link interface at 230.4kbps (also known as COM3). This means that our customers can significantly improve their control circuits with IO-Link encoders from Turck's industrial and universal lines. A full transmission cycle of 38.4 kbps (COM2) requires 2.3 milliseconds. With COM3, this cycle time takes only 0.46 milliseconds, which means that the rate is 5 times faster.
2 resolution
The singleturn 14-bit resolution can meet most market demands, but our multiturn encoder can reach a total resolution of 32 bits, which is equivalent to the number of multiturns can reach 262,000 turns.
3. Mechanical properties
The two shoulder bearings inside the encoder form a particularly reinforced mechanical structure that protects the encoder from oscillations or shocks from the shaft. In addition, the number of electronic components has been reduced to a minimum. These features extend the service life of the encoder considerably.
Energy Harvesting Skill (Multiturn Encoder)
Normally, even when the encoder is powered off, the full number of turns of the encoder is recorded. Turck's new multiturn IO-Link encoder counts the number of turns and does not use rated batteries or mechanical gears, just like our other products. This means that our customers no longer need to worry about a cluttered approach when operating batteries or regularly protecting gears that are prone to failure. The innovative energy harvesting technology not only enables wear-free and unprotected operation, but also enables particularly compact planning.
Energy harvesting refers to the non-touch process of generating energy in a short period of time using the Wiegand skill. This method makes the storage of turns independent of the external power source.
use
IO-Link is becoming more and more widely used in industrial automation and is increasingly replacing analog interfaces. The potential of IO-Link interfaces and their importance for careers are even more apparent.
The IO-Link protocol is also becoming increasingly important for smart sensor solutions. Since our IO-Link encoders provide data storage functions, if the encoder suddenly fails, when replacing the IO-Link encoder, the host automatically supplies the new encoder with the necessary device parameters without any manual parameterization.

Choose the right laser displacement sensor method – Turck
1) Pay attention to the structure and data of the object to be measured, and the general laser displacement sensor needs to measure the triangular optical path with intact requirements. If the measured object has deep grooves or messy appearance, it may cause the triangular light path to be occluded, so that it cannot be measured. There are also some light-absorbing materials, such as black rubber and other materials, most of the light intensity will be ...
