1. Downtime caused by too much dust

Too much dust in the industrial computer will affect the heat dissipation of some important hardware equipment, if the CPU and graphics card and other important hardware are not well dissipated, it will naturally cause blue screen or blurred screen or freeze frame or black screen downtime, although there are generally no rules for this kind of downtime, but the longer the use time, the more frequent the number of downtime.

Countermeasures: Dust removal operations on the industrial computer at regular intervals, and keep the operating environment of the industrial computer clean.

2. Hardware equipment has poor heat dissipation and causes downtime

If there is too much dust, poor smoothness, severe wear or severe aging on the fan, it will affect the heat dissipation of the hardware equipment, and as the situation continues to deteriorate, it will appear that it will frequently shut down or restart after a period of use.

Countermeasures: Regularly check the working status of each fan in the industrial computer and smooth it regularly (it is recommended to use sewing oil) or replace the fan to prevent such problems. If it has been shown that there will be frequent downtime every time you use it, open the case and observe which fan has an abnormality (such as a lot of noise or a significant slowdown or stoppage, etc.) or which hardware temperature is abnormal (such as touching a certain chip or heat sink with your hand is very hot, etc.), and then do the corresponding treatment.

3. There is a problem of downtime due to resistance in the memory

This is a simple situation when running multiple software together. When you run a lot of software together, everything works fine, but sometimes it suddenly crashes and then restarts and reruns the applications, mostly because of conflicting memory resources. Applications run in memory, but some applications use the same memory address with another software for design reasons, and this is where there is conflict. This type of downtime phenomenon is usually freeze-frame downtime or reboot or blue screen or prompt illegal operation or loss of response.

Countermeasures: For such problems, we can only prevent but not eradicate them, try not to let many programs run together, and prevent users from using some unknown source software on their devices.

4. Downtime caused by memory module problems

Memory module problems refer to loose memory modules, virtual soldering, or damage or instability of the memory chip itself.

Solution: If there are two different standard memory inserted in the memory slot of the industrial computer, it is best to remove one, and using two different standard memory will cause downtime. If there is often a downtime phenomenon such as illegal operation related to memory in the Windows operating system, or a direct prompt for the registry to make an error and restart, first check whether the memory module is loose or there is dust into the memory slot, if no abnormality is found, replace the memory module, and if it recovers normally, it is clear that there may be a problem with the memory module.

5. The remaining space of the hard disk is too small or the disk fragments are too much, resulting in downtime

Because some large applications require a lot of memory to run, if the physical memory is insufficient, you need to use the virtual memory on the hard disk, and if the remaining space of the hard disk is too small, then it may cause downtime. In addition, if the industrial computer does not clean up the hard disk fragments for a long time, it will also make the system resources tight and shut down, of course, if there are too many junk files in the hard disk, it will also form the difficulty of the hard disk to find files and cause downtime. The performance of this kind of problem is also relatively special, generally when the hard disk continues to frantically read and write disks, it will suddenly freeze or the blue screen goes down. Of course, less disk fragmentation occurs with the NTFS disk file format.

Solution: The system disk must use the NTFS disk file format, it is best to set the virtual memory to the partition with a large remaining space, and regularly clean up all kinds of junk files and disk fragments.

6. Downtime caused by hard disk problems

If the hard disk is severely aging or is sensational during operation, or presents logical, physical bad sectors or bad sectors, then the industrial computer is very easy to have frequent downtime during operation.

Solution: One is to replace the hard disk, if only the logical fault can be repaired with repair software. Because some of these faults are not easy to find, a disk scanning program can be performed to eliminate such faults.
