In the parameter settings of the VFD, find the parameters related to the braking resistor, such as braking resistor selection, braking resistor current, and other parameters.
According to the rated power and resistance value of the braking resistor, set the braking resistor parameters of the VFD. The specific operation method may vary depending on the VFD brand and model, and it is generally necessary to set it intermittently according to the VFD's clarification book.
Connecting the braking resistor. To connect the braking resistor between the VFD and the motor, the two terminals of the braking resistor are usually connected separately to the output of the braking resistor of the VFD and the input of the motor.
Intermittent braking resistance test. Before the intermittent test, it is necessary to ensure that the VFD and the motor are wired correctly, and set the parameters according to the requirements of the VFD clarification. Then, you can manually turn the motor for a period of time, and then intermittent the motor to see if the braking resistor can interrupt the motor quickly.
It should be noted that the braking resistor can only operate within a certain range, and too large the braking resistor may cause the circuit to overheat, which can damage the VFD or braking resistor.
