When using load cells to detect the distance of objects, many users encounter the problem that the load cell does not output a signal after detecting an object, resulting in the inability to perform subsequent data analysis. But the reason is not all like that, the load cell does not output after detecting the object, there may be many reasons, we need to do the investigation step by step.

                              The reason why the load cell has no signal – ifm

It is necessary to consider whether the optical axis of the sensor is aligned, the optical axis of the emitting part and the light receiving part of the beam type are aligned, and the corresponding regressive reflection probe part and the reflector optical axis are aligned. The same should also be considered is whether the detection object conforms to the specification of the detection object, so as to avoid causing the through-beam type and the reflective type to not be able to detect transparent objects well, like the reflective type has requirements for the color of the detected object, the darker the color, the closer the detection distance.

Load cell manufacturers: for the consideration of the load cell itself, we also need to consider the orientation of the detected object, if the detected object is not in the detection area, such detection is futile. The detected object is within the area that the sensor can detect, that is, within the range that the weighing can perceive.

Consider the issue of wiring or equipment. For through-beam load cells, the light projection part and the light receiving part are used in combination, and both ends require power supply; The regression reflective type is a combination of a sensor probe and a regressive reflector. Together, the user provides a stable power supply to the sensor, if it is DC power supply, the positive and negative poles are recognized, if the positive and negative poles are connected incorrectly, the output signal will not be available.

If all of the above can be cleared clearly, what we need to do is to detect the disturbance elements of the environment. If the light intensity cannot exceed the additional range; If there is dust in the on-site environment, we need to regularly sort out the appearance of the load cell probe; Or it is a multi-sensor tightly device, disturbing each other; There is also a greater impact is electrical disturbance, if there is high-power equipment around, there should be corresponding anti-disturbance measures when disturbance.
