1. What is regenerative braking?

If the motor decreases the command frequency during operation, the motor becomes an asynchronous generator and works as a brake, which is called regenerative (electrical) braking.

2. Can you get more braking power?

The energy regenerated from the motor is stored in the filter capacitor of the inverter, and the regenerative braking force of the general-purpose inverter is about 10%-20% of the additional torque due to the connection between the capacitor capacity and the withstand voltage. If the optional braking unit is used, it can reach 50%-100%.

Maintenance functions can be divided into the following two categories:

(1) After detecting the abnormal situation, take the initiative to correct the action, such as overcurrent loss speed prevention, regeneration overvoltage stall prevention.

(2) After detecting the abnormality, the PWM control signal of the power semiconductor equipment is closed, so that the motor can actively stop. Such as overcurrent blocking, regeneration overvoltage blocking, semiconductor cooling fan overheating and instantaneous power failure maintenance.

4. Why does the maintenance function of the inverter work when the clutch is used to connect the load?

When the load is connected with the clutch, at the moment of connection, the motor changes sharply from the no-load condition to the area with a large slip rate, and the large current flowing through causes the inverter to trip over the current and cannot work.
