If the drive has a built-in braking unit and additional braking resistors, it is important to pay attention to the correct wiring of the braking resistors. The braking resistor should be connected between the P terminal and the DB terminal, but not between the P terminal and the N terminal, otherwise the three-phase rectifier bridge will operate at full load when it is not running, resulting in the equipment can not operate normally, and the braking resistance may be incinerated.

As a ripple resistor, it is mainly used in the mechanical system of the inverter to control the rapid abort of the motor and assist the motor to convert the regenerative electrical energy generated by the rapid abort into thermal energy. It consists of the following three parts:

Ceramic tube: It is the skeleton of the alloy resistance wire, which has the function of a radiator.

Alloy resistance: flat ribbon wavy, wound on the surface of the ceramic tube, responsible for converting the regenerative electrical energy of the motor into thermal energy;

Coating: Coated on the surface of the alloy resistance wire, it has the characteristics of high temperature resistance and is flame retardant.

As a heating element, the following issues need to be considered during the installation process:

(1) The braking resistor at the device position should not be in the same control cabinet as the VFD device, so as not to overheat. It is also best not to get too close to other equipment that is sensitive to heat, so as not to affect the normal operation of other equipment.

The braking resistance should not be too far away from the inverter, generally within 5m, and not more than 10m at most.

(2) The planning of the resistance cabinet should fully consider the heat dissipation of the braking resistor.

First of all, there should be enough space; Secondly, there should be heat dissipation holes. For brake resistors that are frequently opened, a cooling fan should also be supplied.
