The principle of selection of industrial robots - Epson robots

The key points of the requirements in the design of the industrial robot drive system consider the control method, the requirements of the working environment, the cost performance and the speed of machine operation, and the selection principles of the common use of robots are as follows.

1. Program control robot with limited point control for material handling (including loading and unloading) and stamping, and hydraulic driving system can be used for low-speed and heavy loads; Electric drive system is available for medium loads; Pneumatic drive system is available for light load and high speed. The stamping robot mostly uses the pneumatic drive system.

In spot welding, arc welding and spraying robots, if only arbitrary point and continuous trajectory control functions are required, electro-hydraulic or electric servo drive systems are required. If the control accuracy is required to be high, the electric servo drive system is mostly selected; Heavy load handling and explosion-proof spraying robots are controlled by electro-hydraulic servo.

2. Due to the explosion-proof requirements of the working environment, the spraying robot mostly chooses the electro-hydraulic servo drive system and the AC electric servo drive system with intrinsically safe explosion-proof.

For special robots such as underwater robots, nuclear industry robots, space robots, robots in flammable and explosive environments, and robots working in radioactive environments, it is more appropriate to choose AC servo drives.

3. The assembly robot with high requirements for point repeatability and running speed (≤4.5m/s) can choose AC, DC or stepper motor servo system; If the speed and accuracy are higher, the DC servo drive system is selected.
