A load cell is actually a device that converts a quality signal into a measurable electrical signal output. The first thing to consider is the actual operating environment of the sensor, which is very important for the correct selection of load cells. This is related to the normal operation of the sensor, the safety and service life of the entire scale, and even the reliability and safety of the entire scale. In terms of the basic concepts and evaluation methods of the main technical indicators of load cells, there are qualitative differences between the old and new national standards. There are mainly S type, cantilever type, spoke type, plate ring type, film box type, bridge type, cylindrical type, etc.

There is no difference between the sensors used for mass-side measurement and force measurement. However, with advances in sensor accuracy and quality or force measurement requirements, a number of specially planned sensors have now been developed. In addition to the sensors that were commonly used in the early stage, there are also significant differences between specially planned load cells and force sensors.

Ordinary sensors can only be used within a certain range of accuracy. For high-precision disc sensors, requirements planning and clarification of whether they are used to measure force or weigh. The main difference between the two sensors is the different loading methods. For load cells installed on electronic scales, the force is always introduced in the same way, and the calibration of the entire electronic scale takes into account the errors that may occur when introducing the force. Load cells do not have strict requirements for sensitivity. The force transducer is dependent on different unit conditions and is not loaded correctly. If possible, the force transducer should not be affected by incorrect loads such as lateral forces and bending moments.

The sum of all errors in the load cell should be within a certain range of public service, while the force sensor requires that the data of the same single metric be kept within the specified deviation. As a result, there are differences between the two sensors in terms of technical requirements and how test results are handled. In today's age of microprocessors, it is not a problem to evaluate the total error of a load cell according to the World Organization of Legal Metrology or national inspection regulations. Regulatory organizations have different hobbies for these two sensors.
