With Sinumerik V6.20 software, Sinumerik ONE has new technical capabilities that simplify operation, reduce machine wear and tear, and increase productivity. With this update, Siemens is once again demonstrating how the powerful Sinumerik ONE machine CNC can be used to achieve digital transformation in an efficient, agile and modular way.
With the new Y-turning function, the Sinumerik ONE can now be used on machines with Y-axis turning and increases productivity by a factor of 3 with a three-fold increase in feeds. In addition, new tools have been developed to adjust all turning functions and cycles accordingly.
The Advanced Rapid Movement function optimizes the delivery time. Applying this function in cooperation with the machine builder allows the customer to achieve faster transmission between machining operations without changing the part program, increasing the machining speed by about 10 percent.
The new NCK function for Reduced Dynamic Mode reduces wear and improves machine availability. For example, when a shaft overheats, the machine builder can use the NCK function to proactively adjust the machine to a simple operation and proactively recover to full load when the overheating problem is resolved. With the support of the new function, the machine tool can complete the active opening and closing operation in a dynamic form during operation.
On the hardware side, Sinumerik ONE simplifies operation even further: a new keypad and machine control panel (MCP) from 15 to 24 inches are available to match the HMI. At the same time, Simatic Industrial Thin Clients (ITCs) and Industrial PCs will soon be available with higher functionality and resolutions of up to 1920 x 1080 pixels.
The new machine control panel is also integrated into the digital twin of Sinumerik ONE (Create and Run MyVirtual Machine), where the panels look and operate in the virtual world to correspond to the CNC system in the real world. In addition, the digital twin of Sinumerik ONE introduces a number of new features that simplify engineering and preparation for production, such as: pass/3D option to complete the support of the second channel; The support assigns different colors to different tools so that the cutaways can be color-coded according to the tool used; Import the STEP format to better handle cluttered shapes in turning operations.
The function of bump detection has also been further expanded, and it can complete the display of all bump objects and NC program lines in order to quickly investigate and eliminate the cause of bumps.
