Compression forming molds usually use a hydraulic press, and the upper and lower parts of the mold are fixed on the press. The mold consists of a cavity core, which is the same as an injection mold. The tryout material is placed on the open mold and the press is turned off. The set temperature and the pressure generated by the press melt the raw material into the cavity of the mold.

The tryout materials of this kind of mold are usually SMC, BMC, GMT, so we often call this kind of mold SMC mold, BMC mold, GMT mold and so on.
At present, the mold heating system is divided into electric heating system and mold oil heating system, and now the market has higher and higher requirements for SMC products, and the advantages of mold oil heating system are slowly reflected.
The mold oil heating system, also known as the oil circulation temperature controller, has a uniform and stable temperature, and can control the temperature of the mold surface at ±1°C or even more accurately. At present, the temperature of SMC mold is automatically controlled by the computer chip of the oil temperature machine, and the temperature control accuracy is ± 1°C. The oil temperature machine adopts a forming pipeline with small pipe resistance, and the equipment has an automatic exhaust function and a blowing and oil return function. When changing the mold, the heat conduction oil inside the mold can be automatically blown back to the inside of the oil temperature machine, which effectively reduces the waste of oil and time. The docking of the mold oil channel and the oil temperature machine adopts self-closing quick connectors, which are very convenient to connect and dismantle, and can be completed in tens of seconds.

The traditional heating element is used for heating, or the material is not ripe when the local temperature is too low, the surface of the product is partially dark and dull, and the surface of the product looks like a flower. Because the electric heating rod is easy to burn out, and it is not easy to be found after burning, if the surface temperature of the mold is not checked frequently, it is easy to produce batch rejection.
As a stable heating method, the molded SMC mold oil heating system is widely used in the compression molding and RTM liquid forming of fiberglass, carbon fiber, and aramid fiber reinforced composite materials.
