With the development of industrial automation, electric valves are more common than pneumatic, hydraulic and other equipment with different driving modes because of their advantages that the power source is easy to obtain and generally maintenance-free. In industrial occasions, electric valves must have higher reliability and safety, when the valve can ensure the performance and life, the safety and reliability of the electric valve depends on the electric actuator, so the performance and control level of the electric actuator is the comprehensive performance of the technical level of the electric valve. Therefore, in addition to some basic elements that must be considered in the selection of electric actuators, reasonable technical requirements are put forward to maximize the value of electric valves.

There are many types of electric actuators, and electric actuators of different types and functions can be called electric valves after matching valves, but often in the process of design and selection, attention is paid to the parameters of the valve or there is no clear relevant requirements for electric actuators, which not only makes the electric valve not play the best performance, but also brings unnecessary trouble in the process of installation, commissioning and use, and even causes serious consequences to production.

1. Select an electric actuator according to the type of valve

There are quite a lot of types of valves, and the working principle is not the same, generally to rotate the angle of the valve plate, lift the valve plate, etc. to achieve opening and closing control, when matched with the electric actuator, the electric actuator should be selected according to the type of valve.

1. Quarter-turn electric actuator (corner< 360 degrees)

The rotation of the output shaft of the electric actuator is less than one week, that is, less than 360 degrees, and usually 90 degrees to realize the opening and closing process control of the valve. This kind of electric actuator is divided into two types: direct connection type and base crank type according to the different installation interface methods.

a) Direct connection: refers to the direct connection installation of the output shaft of the electric actuator and the valve stem.

b) Base crank type: refers to the form in which the output shaft is connected with the valve stem through the crank.

These electric actuators are suitable for butterfly valves, ball valves, plug valves, etc.

2. Multi-turn electric actuator (corner > 360 degrees)

The rotation of the output shaft of the electric actuator is greater than one week, that is, greater than 360 degrees, and it generally takes many turns to realize the opening and closing process control of the valve.

These electric actuators are suitable for gate valves, globe valves, etc.

3. Linear stroke (linear motion)

The movement of the output shaft of the electric actuator is linear motion, not rotation.

These electric actuators are suitable for single-seat control valves, double-seat control valves, etc.
