Turck has been selling fluid sensors for more than 20 years, and the PS+ series of pressure sensors is a serious expansion of its existing product range. Designed for fast and straightforward commissioning, the device features sensitive device options, intelligent system integration and an innovative keyboard that supports smartphone touch skills, as well as increased resistance to external influences and challenging use influences (pressure spikes). The PS+ series heralds the beginning of extensive product development in the future, where product improvements will be made at no additional cost and products will have an increasingly impressive design.

Thanks to their common communication concept, the PS+ sensors are another cornerstone of Turck's commitment to Industry 4.0. The product supports open specifications such as IO-Link 1.1, through which bidirectional communication with the controller is realized. Thanks to the modular design, all sensors in the fluid series have a consistent appearance and the same operating concept. Customers only need to train their employees on a single operating concept, making it easy to expand or maintain plant equipment. The channel concept has been used in the automotive industry and can be seen as an additional advantage for the user: to assist in the creation of a wide range of product variants, to shorten lead times, and to manufacture sensors that meet specific requirements in a matter of days.

Innovative concept

Turck's new PS+ pressure sensors not only won the Germany IF Design Award, but also have outstanding skills. The product combines two central advantages: simple commissioning and high plant availability. The pressure sensors of the PS+ series have been developed over several years, where smooth installation and quick familiarization of the user with the menu structure are key requirements. The technical specification includes the applicable specification process connections and electrical outputs as well as pressure scales up to 600 bar. The sensor is very sensitive, the head can be rotated 340° freely, and the display can be inverted for hanging. The sensors actively detect whether the controller or bus module requires a PNP or NPN signal, as well as whether the simulated output signal is a current or voltage signal. This enables everyday plug-and-play. Another feature of the product is the common compatibility form within the IO-Link system. Not only do they facilitate the integration of Turck's data profiles, but they also mimic other common profiles, which means that sensor replacement can be done without the controller noticing.
