Turck's rugged and intuitive PS+ series represents the next generation of fluid sensor technology

Turck is launching the new PS+ series of pressure sensors at the Hannover Messe. This series is a modular family of fluid sensors that are robust and intuitive to operate for reliable measurement. The PS+ series has now won the iF Planning Award.

The commissioning of the PS+ pressure sensor is particularly simple. They support suspension and the sensor head can be rotated on a 340° scale. Once connected, the sensor automatically records whether the controller or bus requires PNP or NPN, and whether the current is still a voltage signal. For integration in the IO-Link system, the PS+ sensors are also compatible. Thanks to the operator interface with capacitive touchpad and the two-color digital display, the PS+ pressure sensor can be easily set up in plain text (according to Turck or VDMA standards). To avoid accidental operation, the sensor is also equipped with a locking mechanism.

The fully sealed keypad is more resistant to dirt and water, so the sensor meets the ISO IP6K6K, IP6K7 and IP6K9K ratings. The PS+ series is available with a planned pressure scale of 600 bar and is available with a proven ceramic measuring element (PS310) or a metal measuring element (PS510). In the meantime, the latter has an overpressure resistance of 7 times the nominal pressure. The PS+ series sensors are also available with an optional peak pressure limiter.

This year, Turck will add temperature and current measurement to its new fluid sensor portfolio. Since all sensors are on the same platform, they look and work very similarly.
