Operators of modern transportation systems are increasingly relying on the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) to improve system security, reduce protection costs, and improve passenger experience. To achieve this, high-performance products and robust wireless connectivity are needed to process and transmit the massive amounts of data generated by IIoT applications.
As an IRIS certified supplier of rail communication products, Moxa has launched a new high-performance wireless rail transit computer, the V2406C series. The V2406C accounting machine complies with EN 50155:2017 and EN 50121-4 specifications for on-board and trackside applications; Powered by Intel® Core™ i7/i5/i3 or Intel® Celeron® processors, it has up to 32 GB of RAM, 1 mSATA slot and 2 hot-swappable HDDs/SSDs for expanding storage and meeting massive data processing needs. Equipped with 2 mPCIe wireless expansion slots and 4 SIM card slots, the series enables reliable connectivity for train-to-ground (T2G) applications, which also helps establish redundant LTE/Wi-Fi connections for reliable two-way communication between fast-moving trains and trackside applications. In addition, the calculator is pre-installed with a QMA cable that matches the wireless module, which reduces assembly effort and ensures low RF leakage.
To meet the connectivity needs of in-vehicle and trackside devices, the V2406C supports a variety of interfaces, including 2 Gigabit Ethernet ports, 4 RS-232/422/485 serial ports, 6 DI, 2 DO, and 4 USB 3.0 ports. In addition, the computers are supplied with 1 VGA video output and 1 HDMI output with 4K resolution.
