Digitalization is just the beginning. Big data, cloud, artificial intelligence – all of these are words that often come up as buzzwords in this context. But what is real is what digitalization can really bring to the customer.
Today, many companies have a fundamental understanding of IoT applications, but they sometimes lack the expertise to apply them independently. Although data has been collected and stored in the first step, it is generally not used usefully. However, it is only through logical linkage and evaluation that the information collected can achieve concrete and measurable benefits. Weidmüller's Intelligent IIoT solutions use data to generate added value for operations and services. From data acquisition and pre-processing to data communication and data profiling, we offer a comprehensive portfolio from sensors to the cloud and develop customer-specific solutions for the creation of new digital devices or the digital retrofitting of existing ones.
1. Build the foundation of digital value-added services
Weidmüller enables our customers to reliably access data and valuable data and information in green and brownfield applications. There is a clear distinction between greenfield and brownfield projects. The Green Zone project involves how to make a completely digital machine/equipment. In brownfield projects, clusters of equipment/machines are not yet compatible with IIoT. The latter is currently available to most installed users. Therefore, the digital transformation of today's machines and systems is in the fundamental interest of our customers. Weidmüller does not intervene in the installed automation technology, but rather sets up parallel architectures.
The customer's digital data can be accessed via interfaces to various controllers and machines, sensor data can be acquired via the I/O system u-remote (IP20 and IP67), and power and process information can be accessed via energy meters or PROtop power supplies. Analog signal converters can be used to acquire and replicate analog signals.
In addition, Weidmüller uses the cutting-edge technology of the Internet of Things to preprocess data locally, which can reduce the data flow and cost, and start the selection together in the field. The data is acquired and pre-processed by the graphical modification tool in the web browser and the u-control web with the function of the Internet of Things. IoT gateway for IIoT solutions with mobile interfaces, via Intel? Core? The i3, i5, and i7 processors integrate high performance into a compact IPC.
2. Transfer and profile data to create added value
Weidmüller is now able to reliably transmit data via the network infrastructure and supply IT systems with valuable information from the devices. Not only can it communicate across the network with a high level of security through a security router, but it can also be efficiently networked with a wide range of network devices by handleable and non-handleable switches, and the wireless network connection of mobile terminal devices can be built through industrial WLAN.
Weidmüller can also create added value through data profiling. Through the cloud channel, we can realize channel-independent personalized services for specific applications, and stabilize and analyze the use of customers' resources and power through the ideal resource management method. In addition, a large amount of added value can be obtained from the data based on artificial intelligence using industrial profiling, and u-link can be accessed remotely without deep IT knowledge.
