Scale of use

Thanks to the simple integration of IO-Link, the new RFID antennas are suitable for a wide range of applications. Since only a small amount of data needs to be transmitted, it is ideal for identifying the workpiece carrier during transmission use. In the use of the machine, tool magazines and mold components can be inspected via RFID and IO-Link. This reduces cycle times and increases throughput. In the production of cars, the body components or engines can be compared with the order number through RFID, and then the processing process can be controlled or inspected* and assembled.

Advantages of ifm RFID solutions:

ifm has the widest range of IO-Link sensors on the market. The new RFID antenna further completes the original product variety. The RFID antenna is designed to connect to the IO-Link master. Up to 8 M12 sockets are available at the master* for easy connection to IO-Link RFID antennas. Depending on the version, the IO-Link master offers EtherCAT, Profibus, Ethernet TCP/IP, EtherNet/IP or PROFINET interfaces to the PLC. The rugged antennas are IP 67 and IP 69K rated for use in harsh industrial environments. All RFID tags with the HF standard ISO 15693 can be used.
