Siemens recently signed a buy-in agreement to acquire Supplyframe, a leading platform for planning-to-acquisition information in the global electronics value chain, for $700 million. The sale will bring tremendous value to Supplyframe's and Siemens customers, enabling them to seamlessly and quickly access Siemens products and Supplyframe's marketplace information. This will assist customers in reducing costs, improving agility, and making decisions based on more comprehensive information. Complemented by a software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution, the acquisition will not only strengthen Siemens' product portfolio in the areas of electronic planning automation (EDA) and printed circuit board (PCB), but will also expand into other areas and technologies.

Supplyframe creates a robust, plan-to-buy full-chain intelligence (DSI) ecosystem with data from 10 million engineering and supply chain professionals around the world, transforming the way businesses plan, buy, market and sell products across the global electronics value chain. Supplyframe's SaaS solutions have grown at a rate of about 40% per year over the past few years and are expected to continue at this rate in the medium term.
Siemens will combine Supplyframe's capabilities with its own product portfolio to create significant synergies, with Supplyframe's estimated net present value in the mid-triple-digit range (USD). Steve Flagg will continue to serve as CEO and will participate in the Siemens Digital Industry Software Management team.
Founded in 2003 and headquartered in Pasadena, California, Supplyframe has offices in the United States, China, France, Serbia and the United Kingdom.For fiscal 2021, Supplyframe expects operating revenues of approximately $70 million, with margins in line with professional expectations.
The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2021, subject to customary conditions.
