Bosch Rexroth makes the Cartesian robot selection process much easier. In the handling sector, for example, the intelligent reference process in the LinSelect software guides the user to the optimal subsystem in the shortest possible time for typical gluing tasks, such as gluing or sealing. With just a few parameters entered, the electronic tool provides specific recommendations to help the user select the right Cartesian robot. This recommendation is based on the best achievable technical criteria, price and delivery time, which is used as a guide to make product selection easier.

Reference processes for handling and gluing robots make digital engineering easier and faster. To achieve the best results, Bosch Rexroth incorporated the practical experience gained from customer projects into the development process in addition to its own mechatroth and software expertise.

The new reference process for gluing tasks begins with the choice of a multi-axis system in the form of a space gantry or a horizontal area gant. After entering a few parameters, the algorithm calculates the best option from more than 50,000 combinations. In doing so, a large amount of measurement data and comprehensive practical expertise are combined with highly complex calculation logic.

Designing a gluing robot in a fully automated manner requires only a few key data. In addition to the speed, the estimated profile length, width, and radius, as well as the cycle time, starting position, and center of gravity of the gluing attachment are also involved. Then, with the help of a visual gluing sequence, the complete mechatronic design of the subsystem is calculated by software.

After selecting the required Rexroth automation and drive packages, LinSelect will provide specific advice on the best technology, the lowest price and the shortest delivery time in each case. The results of the recommendations can be saved as a project, shared or transferred directly to the online configurator at Bosch Rexroth, where the selected subsystems can be re-visualized for a real-time 3D preview. Relevant documents and CAD data can be downloaded immediately.

Pre-installed operating software speeds up commissioning

Once the system has been selected in LinSelect and the operating software has been selected in the online configurator, the parts list is transferred directly to the Rexroth production system. Bringing standard components into production immediately from stock minimizes lead times. In the field, pre-installed operating software assists you during commissioning and reduces the required time by up to 80 percent. In addition to the wizards that accompany the process, automatic parameterization and axis routing reference bits as well as visual sequencing based on predefined function blocks also play a key role here. The latter includes typical gluing procedures, such as "gluing", "rinsing" or "wiping the needle". With just a few clicks, mobile monitoring can be activated and data can be transmitted to a higher-level quality system.
