1. The working principle and common parameters of the rope displacement sensor

The function of a rope-actuated displacement sensor is to convert mechanical motion into an electrical signal that can be measured, recorded or transmitted. The wire-actuated displacement sensor consists of a stretchable stainless steel rope wound around a threaded hub that is connected to a precision rotation sensor, which can be an incremental encoder, an absolute (stand-alone) encoder, a hybrid or conductive plastic rotary potentiometer, a synchronizer or a resolver. Operationally, the rope displacement sensor is installed in a fixed position, and the rope is tied to the moving object. The linear motion of the rope and the axis of motion of the moving object are aligned. When movement occurs, the rope stretches and contracts. An internal spring ensures that the tension of the drawstring remains constant. The threaded hub rotates the precision rotation sensor and outputs an electrical signal proportional to the distance the rope is traveled. The measurement output signal can derive the displacement, direction, or velocity of a moving object. Commonly used parameters include measurement stroke, output signal mode, linearity, repeatability, resolution, wire diameter specification, outlet pull, maximum round-trip speed, weight, input resistance value, power, working voltage, operating temperature, vibration, protection level, etc.

2. Signal output mode of rope displacement sensor

The signal output mode of the rope displacement sensor is divided into digital signal output and analog signal output, the digital output type can choose incremental rotary encoder, absolute value encoder, etc., the output signal is a square wave ABZ signal or a gray code signal, the maximum stroke can be 10000 mm, the maximum linear accuracy is 0.01%, and the resolution can reach 0.001 mm/pulse according to different configurations. The analog output type can choose precision potentiometer, Hall encoder, absolute encoder, etc., the output signal can be 4-20 mA, 0-5 volts, 0-10 volts, serial SSI and resistance signals, etc., the maximum stroke can reach 12500 mm, the maximum use environment can reach IP65 protection level, -45 °C - +105 °C wide temperature environment use.

3. Precautions for use and installation

1. Use the 4 fixing screw holes at the bottom to install directly or add protection or other mechanical use according to the needs of the site and machine installation space facilities.

2. When installing the stainless steel cable, it is necessary to pay attention to the horizontal angle, that is, to make the mechanism of the steel cable from the outlet to the moving part slide horizontally during work, and maintain the minimum angle (allowable deviation +/-30) to ensure the measurement accuracy and the life of the steel cable.

3. The steel cable body is stainless steel and coated with fluorine layer, please do not let it be cut, burned, hit and other improper things by external force: excessive dust, chips or enough to destroy the steel cable The internal pulley or outlet will cause the steel cable to be damaged, resulting in the failure of poor operation.

4. If it is not installed on the workbench or fixed before sitting, do not pull out the steel cable by hand or other products and let it spring back instantly. This will cause the steel cable to break, injuring the body structure and personal safety.

5. The instantaneous acceleration of the reciprocating motion of MPS-S and MPS-M series products must not exceed 1 m/s; The instantaneous acceleration of the reciprocating motion of the MPS-L and MPS-L-P series products must not exceed 0.5 m/s; This will cause the steel cable to break, and the company will not be liable for anything outside this scope.

6. If it is used in a non-linear motion mechanism, please install an appropriate pulley to operate.

7. If it is used in harsh environment or special occasions, please install a protective mechanism or contact the manufacturer to avoid losses. Rope displacement sensors are divided into two product categories: digital output type and analog output type. It is suitable for linear guide system, hydraulic cylinder system, telescopic system, storage position positioning, pressure machinery, paper machinery, textile machinery, sheet metal machinery, packaging machinery, printing machinery, level controller, construction machinery and other related dimensional measurement and position control. It is also widely used in screen display and digital display systems in the testing machine industry, and rope displacement sensors can be customized for other applications.
