With the advantages of Casper gear motor such as high efficiency, low noise, compact structure and localization, as well as a wide range of displacement, high pressure level, and the excellent performance of integrated built-in valves, combined with Casper gear pump, the piston pump finally achieves the fixed/variable displacement fan system in the market to provide more customized solutions to meet customer needs.
Constant displacement gear pumps
The KP30 is a two-stage cast iron gear pump with a compact design that allows it to integrate many functions into a limited space. The optimised dimensions as well as the wide range of drive shafts, mounting flanges and ports ensure that the "compact" KP30 is extremely flexible. As the drive pump of the fan system, it has the characteristics of long expected working life, short response time and low noise. In addition to this, Casper also offers the PH series and PL series gear pumps for the cooling needs of fan systems for smaller machines.
The fan system is equipped with a KP30 gear pump with a PH20 gear motor, combined with temperature and speed sensors, an electronic control unit, and the unique advantages of "on-demand" cooling and precise control of fluid temperature by combining hydraulic and electronic devices to program the operating conditions. At the same time, the speed of the fan is independent of the engine speed, and the air volume is no longer affected by the engine speed, which improves the heat dissipation efficiency of the engine. This allows for an ideal control of the thermal energy consumption of the machine.
Variable displacement piston pumps
The MVPD series of variable axial piston pumps is a classic product developed specifically for fan drive solutions. This new swash plate axial variable displacement piston pump has a larger displacement, higher power density and more compact design than the standard model, resulting in a better price/performance ratio. As the drive pump of the mobile machinery fan system, the fan has a higher cooling power, which can further achieve energy savings and fuel economy of the machine.
An electronically controlled hydraulic fan drive system with MVPD variable displacement piston pump offers additional advantages. Variable systems are generally more efficient than dosing systems, especially when high pressures and low flow rates are required, because there is no waste of power spills in electro-hydraulic fan drive systems with dosing pumps. In addition, the flow of the pump output is controlled by an electronic controller to precisely meet the requirements of the fan motor, resulting in a lower amount of heat from the pressure loss, which can reduce the size of the oil cooler.
Energy-saving advantages of variable displacement pumps
Experiments were carried out on the test bench of the R&D department for the absorption of the power of two electro-hydraulic fan drive systems equipped with a dosing motor (displacement equal to 25 cm3/r) with the pump speed set to a constant speed equal to 2400 rpm. The solid black line indicates the power absorbed by a fan-driven system with a fixed displacement pump (displacement equal to 31.5 cm3/r). The black dotted line indicates the absorbed power of the same fan drive system equipped with a variable displacement pump. The variable displacement pump outputs the displacement according to the demand, so energy savings of up to 60% can be achieved compared to the fixed displacement pump at low fan speeds (solid red line).
