Step 1: Disassemble the proportional valve
Unscrew the nut and slide out of the coil to remove the coil from the proportional end. Use a wrench to loosen and remove the tube. Remove the spring and slide the hex wrench from the tube. Then remove the spool from the valve.
Step 2: Inspect all individual parts of the proportional valve for fatigue, wear, or other damage
Inspect the coil for chips, cracks, or other signs of damage. Then check the springs for signs of fatigue. Inspect the tubing for damage or debris, replace the O-rings, and inspect the valve body at the same time. Inspect the spool by rotating it and checking for signs of wear, damage, or fatigue.
Step 3: Clean and replace
If any of the items you inspect show chips, cracks, severe wear and tear, or other damage, that component or components could be the source of the problem. These are the parts you want to replace. However, whether you find damaged parts or not, contaminants in the system can make the job sticky and prevent the free operation of the valve. Regardless of which part is to be replaced, flush and clean all parts, especially the body, spool, and tubing to ensure that there are no contaminants or any substances that could interfere with the proper operation of the proportional valve.
Step 4: Reassemble
Once any damaged or worn parts have been replaced and all components of the system have been flushed and cleaned, it is time to reassemble the proportional valve. Start by reinserting the cartridge into the body housing. Do not force the spool in because you do not want to damage the spool. Before proceeding, test to make sure the spool is able to slide back and forth freely. If so, place the gasket on either side to secure it to the body.
Next, insert a hex wrench into the tube. Tap it to make sure it's fully inserted into the tube, then add the spring. Screw the reassembled tube into the valve body with your fingers and do the same on the other side. Make sure they are secure, then tighten them with a wrench to secure them to the o-ring.
Then, the coil is replaced, it is secured with a nut, and then a fully reassembled functional directional valve should be installed. At this point, flip the valve over and remove and replace the remaining o-rings.
Step 5: Test
All that's left is to test the proportional valve to make sure it's working properly. Hook the valve to a hydraulic press with a test cylinder. Apply current to the coil and see if the spool moves with the test cylinder. Since it is a directional valve, make sure it moves in both directions. When you confirm that the spool is moving in both directions, the repair can be completed.

Rexroth proportional valves – application considerations for proportional valves
1. Pollution control requirements for proportional valve operation
The degree of contamination of the proportional valve to the oil is usually required to be 7-9 levels of NASl638 (ISO 16/13, 17/14, 18/15 levels), and the main link to determine this index is the pilot stage.
Although electro-hydraulic proportional valves are more anti-fouling than servo valves ...

Rexroth hydraulic pump pressure reducing valve correct installation method and installation requirements
1. There are two oil inlets and one oil return port for the pressure reducing valve and one-way pressure reduction connected by threads and flanges, and one oil inlet and one oil return port for one-way pressure reduction and one-way pressure reduction connected by plate connection. During installation, attention must be paid to connect the oil drain port directly back to the Rexroth hydraulic pump oil tank, and keep the oil drain circuit unblocked.

Rexroth Hydraulic Pumps - What are the hazards of hydraulic pumps entering the air?
First, the rigidity of the hydraulic oil decreases sharply, resulting in the slower response of the hydraulic system and the reduction of efficiency, resulting in crawling and vibration of the actuator.
Second, air bubbles will cause oil film to be unable to form between moving parts, resulting in poor lubrication and aggravating the wear of hydraulic components.
The third is in the air ...
