The working range of the industrial robot

The working range of an industrial robot refers to the area of space that can be reached by the robot's arm or hand mounting point. Because hand manipulators come in a variety of sizes and shapes, in order to truly reflect the robot's characteristic parameters, this refers to the work area when the endoiator is not installed.

The shape and size of the robot's working range is important, and the robot may not be able to complete the job due to dead zones that cannot be reached by the hands. The number of degrees of freedom that a robot has and the combination of machines determine its motion pattern; The amount of change in degrees of freedom (i.e., the distance of the linear motion and the magnitude of the angle of rotation) determines the size of the motion graph.

What can an industrial robot do?

Industrial robots, as the name suggests, are robots used for industrial production, and now is the era of emerging industry, and the use of industrial robots is the progress of industrial production, so what can industrial robots do?

In the production workshop, industrial robots are responsible for palletizing, handling, loading and unloading robots, spraying robots, welding machine robots, and so on.

Machining applications: The application of robots in the machining industry is not high, accounting for only 2%, probably because there are many automation equipment on the market that can be competent for machining tasks. Machining robots are mainly used in the fields of part casting, laser cutting, and waterjet cutting.

Robot spraying application: Robot spraying here mainly refers to painting, dispensing, painting and other work, and only 4% of industrial robots are engaged in spraying applications.

Robot assembly application: assembly robot is mainly engaged in the installation, disassembly and repair of parts, due to the rapid development of robot sensor technology in recent years, resulting in more and more diversified robot applications, directly leading to the decline of the proportion of robot assembly applications.

Robot welding applications: Robot welding applications mainly include spot welding and arc welding used in the automotive industry, although spot welding robots are more popular than arc welding robots, but arc welding robots have developed rapidly in recent years. Many machine shops are gradually introducing welding robots to automate welding operations.

Robot handling application: At present, handling is still the largest application field of robots, accounting for about 4% of the overall robot application. Many automated production lines require robots for loading and unloading, handling, and palletizing.
