In many uses, such as geared motors or conveyor belts, the collision torques of the load cannot be ignored. SINAMICS G120 frequency inverter provides a way to feed forward the torque setpoint with collision torque under the condition of a speed controller. Feedforward control reduces speed overshoot based on speed changes.

Activation of the friction characteristic curve of the SINAMICS G120 frequency inverter

The frequency converter calculates the current collision torque based on the values of the 10 control points on the collision characteristic curve. The control points of the collision characteristic curve are defined for the rotational speed in the positive direction. In the negative direction, the inverter uses the inverse of the control point.

After a quick commissioning, the inverter sets the speed of the control points to a value that matches the additional speed of the motor, and the collision torque at all control points remains zero. According to the requirements, the inverter records the collision characteristic curve, and the inverter gradually accelerates the motor to an additional speed, measures the collision torque and writes the collision torque to the control point of the collision characteristic curve. The procedure is as follows:

1) Set p3845=1: activate the collision characteristic curve recording function in the positive and negative directions.

2) Turn on the motor (ON/OFF1=1), the inverter will speed up the motor in the positive and negative directions, and calculate the measurement results in the positive and negative directions.

3) The inverter controls the motor to speed up, and during the measurement, the inverter announces the alarm A07961;

4) When the inverter calculates the control points on all the conflict characteristic curves (no fault code F07963), the inverter stops the motor and records the conflict characteristic curves;

5) Set P3842=1 to activate the collision characteristic curve, the inverter will add the output of the collision characteristic curve R3841 to the torque set value.
