The customer I want to talk about today is a manufacturing enterprise that has been deeply involved in the auto parts industry for nearly 30 years, and its products cover automotive seats, interiors, exteriors, automotive electronics and other categories. It mainly provides high-quality products and services for well-known vehicle manufacturers at home and abroad, such as United States General Motors, SAIC-GM, Great Wall Motors, Beijing Hyundai, etc., and has independent research and development capabilities for seats, soft and hard decorations, rubber products and other products, and can provide customers with safe, comfortable and differentiated system solutions.

Like other automobile manufacturers, although the automotive industry has a higher degree of automation and rich project experience than other industries, it is also facing the pressure of automation upgrading and improving flexibility with the change of manufacturing development trends. At present, the customer has two injection molding workshops, which mainly produce interior injection molding products, including central control, door panel trim, armrest box, etc. The blanking of the injection molding machine is generally responsible for the truss manipulator, and the assembly of the handrail box and the installation of buckles are all completed manually.
With the improvement of customer production capacity, the further control of costs, coupled with the disappearance of demographic dividends, the impact of the epidemic and other factors, in the face of the situation that even if the recruitment conditions are relaxed, it is still more and more difficult to recruit production line workers, and the customer finally made up his mind to further improve the automation rate and reduce the investment in labor costs. For the customer's workshop, the layout of the internal space was very tight, so the size restrictions were strict when introducing automation equipment without changing the layout of the existing production line. Previously, the customer had already introduced collaborative robots to do tightening tasks in other production lines, so this transformation and upgrade still wanted to use collaborative robots to replace the automation upgrade solution.

In this upgrade project, the customer still chooses to cooperate with Elite Robot, which has a pleasant cooperation experience. The project is the application of automatic installation buckles of door panel decorative strips, and a total of 12 white plastic buckles need to be installed on the decorative strips of two specifications, which are required to be completed within 60 seconds, and the manual is only responsible for the upper and lower workpieces, and it is necessary to ensure that the manual operation can not be affected when the equipment has problems.
In the end, Elite recommended the customer to use the EC66 collaborative robot, with a payload of 6kg, a working radius of 914mm, and a repeatability of ±0.03mm. Considering that the cycle time is slightly faster, the integrator has designed a set of devices at the end of the robot, which can take 6 clips at a time, and uses the characteristics of "lightweight" and "easy to use" of the Elite collaborative robot, the robot is integrated in the middle of the workbench, and the two fixtures for fixing the workpiece are placed on both sides of the robot respectively, and the buckle installation task will be completed alternately on both sides. This solution not only met the customer's requirements for the cycle time, but also successfully reduced the number of workers at one workstation and realized the man-machine shared workspace, which was fully recognized by the customer.
In addition, the advantage of cobots is that they can quickly plan and debug the robot's motion trajectory through interactive programming of the teach pendant and drag-and-drop teaching, which greatly shortens the project integration cycle. In practical applications, when the product batch is switched, the customer can quickly call the pre-set program and fine-tune the point, so that the robot can quickly put into new production tasks, and the customer has verified that the return on investment period of the project is about 8-12 months.
