First, the structure is different

The embedded industrial computer adopts a closed fanless design, which can not only be dustproof, moisture-proof, vibration-proof, enhance the ability to resist electromagnetic interference, but also can achieve a wide range of temperature work. Traditional industrial computers generally use a 4U standard chassis that is easy to install, and the chassis is a steel structure, which has a high ability to resist electromagnetic interference and shock. There is a dedicated power supply in the chassis, which has the ability to work continuously for a long time. The chassis needs a fan to cool the heat, and when the fan fails, the power supply and industrial motherboard will be damaged.

1. Active heat dissipation

The embedded industrial computer uses heat sinks distributed on the surface of the chassis for heat dissipation, which effectively solves the problem of high internal temperature of the chassis and the problem that the cooling fan is prone to failure when working for a long time, and improves the stability and reliability of the industrial computer for long-term operation in the field. At the same time, because the fanless operation avoids the requirement of air convection, thus effectively preventing dust from entering the inside of the industrial computer.

2. Cable-free design

All circuits are firmly fixed inside the industrial computer by circuit board, so that it can maintain stable and reliable operation in extremely harsh environments such as high temperature, high frequency vibration, and high dust.

3. DC wide voltage input

Built-in, industry-standard voltage and current regulators support wide DC inputs for safe and reliable operation in a wide range of industrial environments.

Second, the functions are different

Embedded industrial computer is a compact industrial computer designed for all kinds of small spaces, compact size, small size, light weight, less space, simple installation and maintenance, flexible, and convenient operation. It supports a variety of expansion interfaces, such as PCI, PCIE, mini PCIe and mSATA, etc., providing maximum flexibility for different industrial applications. The high-performance embedded computer also supports POE ports, allowing data to be transmitted over Ethernet cables, making the system available for use in IEEE802.3af standard power supply devices, reducing complexity, installation and maintenance costs, while increasing the security and reliability of the network.

3. Service cycle

Embedded industrial computers are often organically combined with specific applications, and the upgrading of embedded industrial computers is also synchronized with specific products, so once embedded system products enter the market, they have a long service life. Traditional industrial computers have a wide and solid user base, and the system composition is highly flexible, which has been familiar and recognized by the majority of technical personnel.

Embedded computers have a small footprint and are suitable for applications that require higher reliability, size, and power consumption. Both have their own advantages, and compared with traditional industrial computers, embedded industrial computers are more suitable for complex and harsh on-site environments.
