A proximity sensor is a device with the ability to perceive the proximity of an object, which uses the sensitivity of the displacement sensor to the approaching object to identify the proximity of the object and output the corresponding switching signal. For this reason, proximity sensors are often referred to as proximity switches. It is a general term for sensors that replace the contact detection method and do not need to contact the detected object, which can detect the movement and presence of the object and convert it into an electrical signal;
(1) Compared with other types of sensors, the advantages of optical distance sensing-proximity sensors are mainly reflected in the following aspects:
1) The proximity sensor can detect in a non-contact way, and will not wear and damage the object to be detected;
2) The proximity sensor adopts the contactless output mode, which prolongs the service life of the sensor (except for the magnetic type), and the semiconductor output is adopted, which has no impact on the life of the docking point;
3) Different from the light detection method, the proximity sensor can be used in the environment with water and oil, and it is almost not affected by the stains and oil and water of the detected object during detection;
4) Compared with contact switches, proximity sensors can achieve high-speed response;
5) Proximity sensors can be used in a wide range of temperatures;
6) The proximity sensor is not affected by the color of the detected object, because the proximity sensor detects the change of the physical properties of the detected object, so it is almost not affected by the surface color.
(2) Selection of proximity sensor:
For different materials of detection bodies and different detection distances, different types of proximity switches should be selected to make them cost-effective in the system, for which the following principles should be followed in the selection:
When the detector body is a metal material, a high-frequency oscillating proximity switch should be selected, which is the most sensitive to the detection of iron-nickel and A3 steel detectors. When the detection body is a non-metallic material, such as; For wood, paper, plastic, glass and water, capacitive proximity switches should be used.
When long-distance detection and control is to be carried out, photoelectric proximity switch or ultrasonic proximity switch should be selected; When the detector body is metal and the detection sensitivity is not required, a low-cost magnetic proximity switch or Hall type proximity switch can be used.

Banner Sensors – What are the Uses of Photoelectric Sensors?
1. Photoelectric smoke alarm
When there is no smoke, the light emitted by the light-emitting diode travels in a straight line, and the phototriode does not receive a signal. There is no output, when there is smoke, the light emitted by the LED is refracted by the smoke particles, so that the transistor receives the light, there is a signal output, ...

Common failures of Banner sensors
1. The problem of the sealing ring of the pressure sensor
The output of the pressurized transmitter does not change, and the output of the pressurized transmitter changes suddenly, and the zero position of the pressure relief transmitter cannot be returned, which is likely to be a problem with the sealing ring of the pressure sensor. It is common that due to the specification of the sealing ring, the sensor is tightened and tightened.

What are the reasons why Banner photoelectric sensors do not have signal output?
First, it is the problem of wiring or configuration to be considered. For the through-beam BANNER photoelectric sensor, it must be used in combination with the light emitting part and the light receiving part, and both ends need to be powered by power; The regression reflector type must be used in combination with the sensor probe and the regression reflector; At the same time, the user has to give the sensor ...

Banner Sensors – The basic building blocks of fiber optic sensors
There are three basic components of a fiber optic sensor network, one of which is called a single-point sensor. An optical fiber only plays the role of transmission here, and the other is called a multi-point sensor, where an optical fiber strings many sensors together, so that many sensors can share a light source to achieve networking.
