A properly calibrated tester is a smart choice that can ultimately save you money. The right place to get your Fluke network tester calibrated is one of our 13 authorized service centers around the world, and like those who drive long after the engine service light is on on the dashboard, some may have been putting off their calibration test by a network technician, despite email or LinkWare real-time notifications from the Fluke network.
Just like your car, we know you may question whether calibration really needs to be done, or if it can be postponed for a while. We also understand that just like your car is in a shop, you can't use a detector while doing calibration. But just like not changing your car's oil, not calibrating your tester will end up costing you more.
Why does it even need to be calibrated?
Just as your car's oil will wear out over time and become less effective at properly lubricating your engine, the parts of your Fluke network tester may deviate from their original performance. Part of the process of designing an accurate tester is determining the appropriate calibration interval. We do this by reviewing the specification, as well as looking at the real-world experiences of thousands of testers. As with any electronics, resistors, capacitors, and circuits can drift over time due to temperature, humidity, and heating and cooling each time the tester is turned on and off. The circuit board inside the tester can also be contaminated with dust or other materials.
Do you remember that time when you accidentally dropped the tester on the concrete floor, or you had to stop and it slid from your passenger seat onto the truck floor? And what about spending the weekend in sub-zero temperatures or in the heat of August? While it is designed to continue to work even after these types of shocks, it may not be as accurate as it was initially.
Sometimes calibration is just needed. If you are ISO 9001 certified, you must calibrate any measurement equipment used to verify or control quality. In order to guarantee the quality of the system, cabling and connection manufacturers often need to provide test data with instruments with valid calibration.
Postponing may cost you more money
If you've ever had a major engine failure or jam because of a delayed oil change, you know that this will ultimately cost you more in the long run. Postponing the calibration of a tester is no exception. Not only can you run the risk of invalidating the system warranty, but you can also imagine what happens when your testers mistakenly pass bad links or mistakenly fail to good links.
If your uncalibrated tester passes the wrong link and you provide the wrong result to the customer, they may ask you to come back for a repair, or worse, they may file legal action against you. If your good links fail, you'll spend time troubleshooting and fixing unwanted links. In either case, you're losing time and money, not to mention potentially unhappy customers.
There, you can get quality calibration, product-specific knowledge, and thorough adjustments, repairs, and firmware updates to ensure your tester is working as well as it did when you first used it. This is something to celebrate.

【Case Study】Making Gas Leaks "Visible" – Acoustic Imaging Technology Helps Enterprises Save Energy and Increase Efficiency
Compressed air pipes are a core piece of critical equipment in many manufacturing plants. If the compressed air duct is intact, then the equipment that depends on it will be able to function properly. However, once the compressed air pipeline is damaged, the resulting compressed air leakage will cause a lot of energy waste, which will be a great waste of energy for the enterprise.
