Turck's new Li linear displacement sensor measures displacement at frequencies of up to 5 kHz and up to 2 m in length

Turck has upgraded its touchless LiQ25 positioning system with a new extended version. Compared to alternative measurement systems, the inductive measurement principle provides higher impact resistance and sampling rates. The measurement length of the Li sensor is up to 2m, and the performance far exceeds that of the magnetostrictive displacement sensor (the latter is limited by the operating principle, and the measurement speed decreases with the increase of the measurement length).

The IP67-rated sensors of the extended series are not only resistant to harsh environmental conditions such as high humidity and dirt, but also reliably output position signals and* up to 200 g of vibration or shock. The 5kHz scan rate reduces positioning errors to the lowest possible level, which was previously impossible in difficult applications. The use of a 16-bit digital-to-analog converter has further improved accuracy.

The Li sensor is resistant to magnetic field interference and is ideal for closed-loop control tasks in the metal processing industry, as the accumulated metal chips do not stick to the positioning element and do not cause linearity errors. Thanks to their high impact resistance, these sensors can be used in presses, stamping machines, as well as in woodworking and injection moulding machines without any problems.

Li linear position sensors are typically supplied with two output signals: 0-10 V and 4-20 mA. This allows for the connection of diagnostic systems and reduces the number of models in stock. Turck supplies new measuring machines with measuring lengths from 100 to 2000 mm.
