Photoelectric switches are what we generally call sensors. The national standard GB7665-87 defines the definition of the sensor: a device or device that can sense the measured part of the rule and convert it into a usable signal according to the certain rules, which is generally composed of a sensitive element and a conversion element.
The sensor is a kind of detection device, which can sense the measured information, and can convert the detected and touched information into an electrical signal or other required information output according to certain rules, so as to meet the requirements of information transmission, processing, storage, display, recording and control. It is the link to realize automatic detection and automatic control.
The characteristics of the sensor include: miniaturization, digitalization, intelligence, multi-functional, systematic, networking, it not only promotes the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, but also may establish the best industry, so as to become a new economic growth point in the 21st century. Miniaturization is based on microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) technology, which has been successfully applied to silicon devices to make silicon pressure sensors.
Function:
The function of the sensor is often compared with the five major sensory organs of the human being:
Light Sensors - Vision Sound Sensors - Hearing Gas Sensors - Smell Chemical Sensors - Taste Pressure Sensitive, Temperature Sensitive, Fluid Sensors - Touch
Classification of sensitive components:
(1) Physics, according to physical effects such as force, heat, light, electricity, magnetism and sound.
(2) Chemistry, according to the principle of chemical reactions.
(3) Biological species, according to enzymes, antibodies, hormones and other molecules to identify functions.
Generally, according to its basic sensing function, it can be divided into ten categories, such as thermal elements, photosensitive elements, gas-sensitive elements, force-sensitive elements, magnetic sensitive elements, moisture-sensitive elements, sound-sensitive elements, radiation sensitive elements, color-sensitive elements and taste-sensitive elements (some people have divided sensitive elements into 46 categories).

The difference between optical fiber and photoelectric sensors – we are blessed
1. The definitions are different
Photoelectric sensor: A photoelectric sensor is a device that converts optical signals into electrical signals. Its principle of operation is based on the photoelectric effect. The photoelectric effect refers to the phenomenon that when light shines on certain substances, the electrons of the matter absorb the energy of photons and the corresponding electrical effect occurs ...

A little bit about photoelectric sensors – a blessing
Under normal circumstances, a photoelectric sensor consists of two parts: a processing path and a processing element. Its basic principle is to use the photoelectric effect to convert the measured change into a change in the optical signal, and then use the optoelectronic components to further convert the non-electrical signal into an electrical signal. The "photoelectric effect" refers to the use of light ...
