It is understood that with the rapid promotion and application of robots in production, service and other industries, the operational reliability level of robot products has gradually attracted the attention of robot developers and users. How to comment on the operational reliability level of the robot, at that time, the industry generally used MTBF to characterize, such as ABB robot in the early years (2014) publicly guessed MTBF 50,000 hrs; KUKA's new KR QUANTEC robot MTBF 400,000 operating hours.
So, what is MTBF? MTBF (Mean timebetween failures) is measured as the ratio of the total number of units of product life to the total number of faults under the conditions of the rule and during the period of the rule. It is generally used to characterize modifiable products.
There are two main types of work on MTBF quantitative accounting in robot reliability engineering:
The first is the reliability prediction (MTBF) in the early design stage of the product, and the second is the reliability (MTBF) evaluation in the later sample stage of the product.
Generally speaking, the engineering advantage of MTBF index lies in its engineering value to product users, which is much higher than that of product research and development, because it is more convenient to be used to manage equipment operation time management, maintenance and spare parts cost control.
