From the very beginning, Polaris has been committed to improving the self-care level of the elderly. In the past seven years, 2,606 people have improved significantly in their level of care with the help of Polaris, and 516 people have completely completed the elimination of nursing care insurance and are living a normal and independent life. In addition, the nursing care support service "LIFELENS" for the supply of nursing care equipment has also enabled Panasonic to improve the IoT · in related fields. AI technology, combined with Polaris' self-reliance technology, has launched a new care service that allows the elderly to regain their health and vitality during short-term stays such as vacation equipment and hotels.
Since February 2018, Polaris and Panasonic have been jointly developing and conducting empirical tests on the self-reliance support care pathway. The jointly developed remote evaluation system uses wearable devices and mobile devices to remotely monitor the status of the elderly without face-to-face contact. Since it is possible to collect quantitative and rapid remote information on the physical condition of the elderly, this system has completed the high-level benchmarking of self-reliance and support care.
The system conducted a demonstration test of Polaris' day care equipment and confirmed that the evaluation of the rehabilitation training program and the conjecture of the effect can be completed remotely without face-to-face. Based on the results of this empirical test, a new short-term stay-based self-reliance support service equipped with this system has been put into operation at the RIHGA Royal Hotel Osaka.
Through this service, users can relax and unwind together in vacation facilities, hotels, etc., and conduct rehabilitation training according to their personal situation with the best health management and care plan. In addition, the service can also improve the disuse syndrome caused by staying at home due to the pandemic in the elderly [1].
