1. Can Universal Robots run programs automatically after they are turned on? How?

Under normal circumstances, Universal Robots needs to complete the following steps from booting up to running the program: booting, initializing the robot (on, starting), loading the program, starting the program, returning to the starting point (automatic), and starting the program.

In order to automate the above steps, you need to set up the autoloader in the "Default Programs" tab of the "Installation Settings" window, and set the DI signal to be used for auto-initialization and auto-start of the program. Also, remember to save it in the default.installation file.

In order to avoid the operation of returning to the starting point, you can set the waypoint type of the initial point to relative roadpoint or variable waypoint, but it is necessary to ensure that the movement process of the robot back to the initial point at the current position is safe.

2. Can Universal Robots be installed at any angle? What parameters need to be modified?

The installation referred to herein refers to the installation position of the robotic arm based on the base flange, and when the robotic arm is installed and fixed, the robot installation position and angle are set in the "installation" tab of the "installation setting" window of the teach pendant; It is critical that the controller uses advanced dynamics models to ensure smooth and precise movement of the robot arm and to self-support the robot arm when it is in free drive mode.

By default, the robot arm is mounted on a smooth, level table or floor, in which case no changes need to be made to the Installation tab. However, if the robot arm is ceiling-mounted, wall-mounted, or angle-mounted, it will need to be adjusted using the buttons in it.

The button on the right side can be used to set the installation angle of the robot arm, the first three buttons on the right side can set the angle to the ceiling (180?), wall (90?), ground (0?), and the tilt button can be used to set any angle; The button at the bottom is used to rotate the mounting angle of the robot arm to align with the actual mounting angle.

3. What is the reliability of Universal Robots? What are the precautions when using it?

Universal Robots has an estimated life cycle of 35,000 hours, and each robot undergoes rigorous start-up tests before leaving the factory, with the purpose of detecting component failures and assembly failures. The key components of the robot are products of well-known brands to ensure their quality and reliability.

The use of the robot is carried out in accordance with Universal Robots' specifications and user manuals, without overloading, properly installed and wired, and with TCP parameters as well as speed and acceleration parameters set correctly.

4. The function of dragging and teaching of Universal Robots is very practical, how is it realized?

One of the biggest features of Universal Robots as a collaborative human-robot robot is that it can be dragged and taught.

To realize the drag teaching, you first need to complete the initialization process in the teach pendant: in the "Set Robot" window, select "Initialize Robot", click the "On" and "Start" buttons, then press the black "Free Drive" button on the back of the teach pendant with your finger, and then pull the mechanical arm with your other hand to drag and teach.

When dragging and teaching, remember not to use too much force, if you feel a lot of resistance, do not deadlift, and check where there are obstacles.

We know that after the servo of the robotic arm motor is energized, it can maintain its position and attitude because of the action of electromagnetic force, and at this time, the robotic arm cannot be pulled. When the "free drive" button is pressed, the electromagnetic force of the joint is released, at this time, the robot will add an appropriate counter-driving force to balance the gravity according to the gravity of each joint at present, and the robotic arm is in a suspended state, and it can be dragged and taught.
