In 1982, Fanuc United States produced its first NC Painter, a hydraulic painting robot using parent company Fanuc Corp. of Japan. key components. Fast forward 35 years ago, Fanuc United States was globally responsible for all painting robots and door openers in the Fanuc Robotics family for a range of industries including automotive, aerospace, agricultural products, furniture, appliances and medical devices.

"We are committed to 35 years of product innovation and production efficiency to provide our customers with the highest quality painting robots we design, assemble and integrate in the United States and export to customers around the world," said Mike Cicco, the company's president. "In 2017, we will look back on where we started, what we have achieved, and what we have planned for the future."

Fanuc United States says all of its paint robots are ZDT-ready, meaning they can monitor a variety of functions, including paint cans, paint sprayers, drive health and paint process supervisors. In addition, ZDT also provides maintenance reminders to notify customers to inspect or replace worn items. Currently, more than 800 paint robots use ZDT for analysis, and more are connected to the cloud every month, the company explained.

"We have an extensive team of local experts providing software, product design, assembly and integration for our paint robots, which allows us to respond quickly to customer needs," said Jon Karr, vice president of paint shop automation at Fanuc United States. "These customers want to improve quality and yield while minimizing the risk of exposing assembly workers to hazardous environments, just as automakers wanted to do in 1982."
