1. Is it possible to put the motor directly into a fixed frequency inverter without using soft start?

It is possible at very low frequencies, but if the given frequency is high, the conditions for direct starting of the power supply are similar. The starting current will flow too much (6-7 times the rated current), because the inverter cuts off the overcurrent, and the motor cannot start.

2. What problems should be paid attention to when the motor exceeds 60Hz?

When working beyond 60Hz, the following precautions should be taken:

(1) Machinery and equipment should have sufficient possibilities to work at this speed (mechanical strength, noise, vibration, etc.).

(2) When the motor enters the constant power output scale, its output torque should be able to maintain the operation (the cubic share of the output power and speed of the shaft of the fan and pump increases, so it is necessary to pay attention to the speed when the speed increases slightly).

(3) The life of the bearing should be fully considered.

(4) For medium-capacity motors, especially 2-pole motors, it is necessary to discuss carefully with the manufacturer when working above 60Hz.

Depending on the structure and lubrication method of the reducer, there are several problems that need to be paid attention to. In the structure of the gear, 70-80Hz can generally be considered as the largest limit, when the oil lubrication is selected, the continuous operation at low speed is related to the damage of the gear.

Basically, it doesn't work. Generally, the motor uses the outer fan installed on the shaft or the blades on the rotor end ring for cooling, and if the speed drops, the cooling effect decreases, so it cannot accept the same heating as the high-speed operation, and it is necessary to reduce the load torque at low speed, or select a combination of inverter and motor with large capacity, or select a special motor.

6. What should I pay attention to when using a motor with a brake?

The power supply of the brake excitation circuit should be taken from the input side of the inverter. If the brake actuates while the inverter is outputting power, an overcurrent cut-off will occur. Therefore, the brake should be activated after the inverter stops output.

7. If you want to use an inverter to drive a motor with a capacitor to improve the power factor, but the motor does not move, please explain the reason.

As a countermeasure, remove the capacitor and work on the power factor improvement because the charging current of the inverter is caused by the inverter overcurrent (OCT), and it is useful to connect an AC reactor to the input side of the inverter to improve the power factor.
