The selection of inverter is indeed very important, because if the selection is not suitable, it will cause a waste of time and money, and at worst it will cause production incidents and personnel damage.

First of all, according to the classification and selection of the inverter

1. Inverters can be divided into general-purpose inverters and special inverters.

2. General-purpose inverters are mainly used in: general fan pumps (referring to inverters that only drag a single fan or pump) loads, mechanical loads, loads requiring high overload, etc.

3. Special inverters are mainly used in: special fan pumps (referring to inverters dragging multiple fans or pumps) loads, elevator type loads, tension control loads, EPS loads, dust-proof and moisture-proof loads, textile loads, pumping unit loads, explosion-proof loads, and so on.

Second, according to the selection of three numbers

1. The general inverter model is according to the number of each manufacturer + power industry, such as a brand of inverter model is *** -011G/015P, during which G indicates heavy-load constant torque, suitable for 11KW heavy-load or constant torque load; P indicates light load, suitable for 15KW light load series load.

2. The accurate method of inverter selection is still to take the actual additional current value of the motor as the basis for the selection of the inverter, and the additional power of the motor can only be used as a reference.

3. If the inverter and the motor are far apart, the interval exceeds 100 meters, and the output reactor is installed and the power of the inverter should be amplified by one gear.

4. When the inverter is used to control several motors connected in parallel, it must be considered that the sum of the length of the cable from the inverter to the motor is within the allowable range of the inverter.

5. When selecting the inverter for high-speed motors, it should be slightly larger than that of ordinary motors.

6. When driving the explosion-proof motor, the explosion-proof special inverter should be selected.

7. For compressors, vibrating machines and other loads with large torque fluctuations and peak loads such as hydraulic pumps, the power frequency operation should be understood, and the inverter with additional output current greater than its maximum current should be selected.

8. Single-phase motors are not suitable for inverter drive.

Third, select according to the application environment

1. The influence of ambient temperature on the inverter: when selecting the inverter, it is necessary to take into account that the operating environment temperature is generally -10-40 °C, and if the temperature of the working environment is higher than 40 °C, the inverter should be derated by 5% for every 1 °C increase, and it is necessary to add external forced heat dissipation.

2. The influence of humidity on the inverter: when selecting the inverter, if the humidity is lower than 90%, the relative humidity of the air is less than or equal to 90%, and there is no condensation. If the humidity is too high and the humidity changes greatly, the inside of the inverter is more likely to show condensation, and the insulation function will be greatly reduced, and even a short circuit will occur. In such working conditions, a special inverter for moisture-proof should be selected

3. The influence of altitude on the inverter: the inverter can output additional power when installed below 1000m above sea level. When the altitude exceeds 1000m, its output power will decrease; When the set carrier frequency is above the factory value, the inverter needs to be derated by 5% for every 1kHz increase.

4. The influence of dust on the inverter: in the case of metal conductive dust, because the conductive dust will invade the inside of the inverter, it is easy to cause a short circuit in the internal circuit of the inverter, and the inverter will be incinerated under severe circumstances. Therefore, in the production and operation of dusty occasions, dust-proof special inverters should be selected for such working conditions, which can block the entry of dust and prevent the incineration of the motor.
