1. Commonly used busbars, useful categories

Busbars are divided into hard busbars and soft busbars.

According to its different shapes, hard buses can be divided into: rectangular busbars, tubular busbars, trough busbars, diamond busbars and so on.

Rectangular busbars are the most commonly used busbars and are also busbars. According to its material, it is divided into aluminum bus bar (aluminum bar) and copper bus bar (copper bar). The benefits of rectangular bus bar are convenient placement, small innovation in operation, large current carrying capacity, but high cost.

Tubular busbars are often used in conjunction with bolt switches. Now the multi-bit steel pipe bus is easy to construct, but the current carrying capacity is very small. Of course, the aluminum tube has a large current-carrying capacity, but the construction process is difficult, and it is still rarely received.

Both trough and diamond busbars are used in high-current bus bridges and power distribution places with high requirements for thermal and dynamic stability.

Soft busbars are mostly used outdoors. The outdoor space is large, the wire distance is wide, and the heat release result is good, the construction is convenient, and the cost is also low.

2. Regardless of what kind of bus bar should be selected, the following conditions should be met:

(1) The selected bus must meet the requirements of continuous current.

(2) Deal with high uniform load and long bus bar throughout the year. The bus with a large transmission capacity should be selected according to the economic current density.

(3) The bus should be calibrated and passed according to the corona voltage.

(4) According to the short-circuit thermal stability condition calibration passed.

(5) According to the short-circuit dynamic stability condition calibration passed.

3. The same standard rectangular bus is installed vertically and horizontally

In the normal operation of the bus, the bus is heated due to the current, and if the heat of the bus itself is to dissipate heat to the surrounding space, the bus temperature is stable, so the bus temperature is very related to the heat dissipation conditions. Under the condition that the temperature rise is certain, if the heat dissipation conditions are different, even if the bus bar of the same standard is allowed, its allowable rated current should be different.

For rectangular busbars, the heat dissipation conditions are better for vertical installation, and slightly worse for flat installation. Under the same conditions, under the condition of uniform temperature rise, the rated current of the vertical bus is 5%-8% larger than that of the flat bus, but the dynamic and thermal stability of the vertical bus is worse than that of the flat bus. Of course, because the flat-mounted busbar is convenient for wiring, it is still more common to use the flat-mounted busbar in practical applications.
