Zornio, a veteran automation and software leader, drives Emerson's innovation and technology strategy

ST. LOUIS (November 29, 2022) – Emerson (NYSE: EMR), a global leader in automation technology and software, has appointed Peter Zornio as Chief Technology Officer. In his new role as Chief Technology Officer of Emerson's Automation Solutions business, Zornio will be responsible for leading all aspects of Emerson's innovation strategy, overall product roadmap, technology and portfolio direction, core R&D functions and industry standards. He also joined Emerson's CEO Office, where he helped develop and direct the company's global business strategy.

Zornio previously served on the executive management team for Emerson's Automation Solutions business, where he led the development of Emerson's comprehensive automation systems and software portfolio, including the company's Plantweb digital ecosystem and Industrial IoT solutions and strategy, and led the marketing team for automation solutions. Prior to joining Emerson in 2016, Zornio held a variety of roles at Honeywell, including product and industry marketing, program implementation, and technology.

Outside of Emerson, Zornio is a member of the Forbes Technology Council, a group of executive technology leaders who share their knowledge and diversity in the industry, and on the Board of Directors of FieldComm Group, a not-for-profit industry federation that administers industry standards for automation.

Zornio is based in Austin, Texas and holds a degree in chemical engineering from the University of New Hampshire.
