Birdon shipyard in Australia has selected Siemens' Teamcenter software to support its digital shipyard strategy.
The software is used for Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and is integrated with NX software for computer-aided planning (CAD) to streamline the development of product planning data by creating a digital thread throughout the planning process.
According to Birdon, Teamcenter is a critical step in building a 100% digital shipyard that optimizes its approach to integrating work and sharing secure data across the business. Integrating product modeling with PLM systems using digital twins and 3D skills helps ensure product performance and sustainability.
In short, Teamcenter helps advance Birdon's ability to build a digital shipyard, make planning information easier to share across configuration systems, and then standardize the planning process. Together, it can further optimize the handling of planning changes and reduce the ongoing costs associated with planning iterations.
Teamcenter integrates product lifecycle management (PLM), digital twins, 3D modeling, data, and asset management practices from planning and production to full lifecycle support.
