How to set up Advantech's IPC BIOS

1. The main interface of Advantech's BIOS settings

After the power is turned on, press the Del key to enter the main menu interface of BIOS settings, with a total of 13 options.

(1) StandardCMOSFeatures: set the date, time, soft disk specifications and display type;

(2) AdvancedBIOSFeatures;

(3) AdvancedChipsetFeatures: Set the relevant parameters of the chipset used by the motherboard;

(4) IntegratedPeripherals (external device settings);

(5) PowerManagementSetup;

(6) PNP/PCIConfigurations (Plug and Play/PCI Parameter Setting): This item is only valid when your system supports PnP/PCI;

(7) Frequency/VoltageControl: set the frequency of the CPU, set whether to automatically detect the CPU frequency, etc.;

(8) LoadFail-SafeDefaults(load the safest default);

(9) LoadOptimizedDefaults: Use this menu to load the best performance but may affect the stability of the defaults;

(10) SetSupervisorPassword (set superuser password);

(11) SetUserPassword (set user password);

(12) Save &ExitSetup (save and exit): save the modification to CMOS, and then exit the Setup program;

(13) ExitWithoutSaving: Discard the modification to CMOS and exit the Setup program.

2. Advantech's IPC BIOS external device settings

Click IntegratedPeripherals in the main menu to access the External Device Settings screen. There are a total of 8 options on the external device setup screen.

(1) On-ChipPrimaryPCIIDE: Disabled and Enabled, and the default value is Enabled;

(2) On-ChipPrimary/SecondaryPCIIDE (on-board second PCI slot setting): the setting values are: Disabled and Enabled, and the default value is Enabled;

(3) IDEPrimaryMasterPIO (IDE First Master PIO Mode Setting): Four IDEPIO (Programmable Input/Output) items allow the PIO mode (0-4) to be set for each IDE device supported by the onboard IDE. Modes 0 to 4 provide incremental performance. In Auto mode, the system automatically decides the best mode for each device to work. The setting values are: Auto, Mode0, Mode1, Mode2, Mode3, Mode4;

(4) IDEPrimaryMasterUDMA (IDE First Master UDMA Mode Setting): UltraDMA/33/66/100 can only be used when this feature is supported by IDE hard drives, and the operating environment includes a DMA driver (Windows95OSR2 or third-party IDE bus control driver). If both the drive and system software support UltraDMA/33, UltraDMA/66 or UltraDMA/100, select Auto for BIOS support to work. The setting values are: Auto, Disabled;

(5) IDEPrimarySlaveUDMA (IDE first from UDMA mode setting): the setting method is the same as above; IDESecondaryMasterUDMA (IDE second master UDMA mode setting): the setting method is the same as above; IDESecondarySlaveUDMA (IDE second from UDMA mode setting): the setting method is the same as above;

(6) USBController (USB controller settings): This item is used to control the onboard USB controller. The setting values are: Enabled, Disabled;

(7) USBKeyboardSupport: If you are using USB keyboards in operating systems that do not support USB or do not have USB drivers, such as DOS and SCOUnix, you need to set this item to Enabled;

(8) InitDisplayFirst (the first display setting when the computer is turned on).
