There are two types of leakage between the valve core and the valve seat: 1. Damaged leakage; 2. Valve position leakage.

For the metal sealed valve, the damage leakage refers to the default on the sealing line between the valve core and the valve seat, so that the sealing line is disconnected, and the disconnection is the leakage point, which may be on the valve core or the valve seat, no matter where it is necessary to spray and grind the valve core or valve seat of the broken line, so that the sealing line of the valve core and the valve seat is continuous without breaking the wire. For non-metallic sealed valves, generally sealed by rubber, polyfluoride and other sealing materials, their seals have a ring contact surface, when there is a broken leakage, the sealing ring is also broken, as long as the sealing material can be repaired.

Valve position leakage refers to the fit between the valve core and the valve seat is not in place, this situation occurs more in the regulating valve, this is not the problem of the valve body, it can be eliminated by adjusting the stroke of the valve actuator.

The above valve leakage belongs to the internal leakage of the valve, the external leakage of the valve is the leakage at the valve stem, the early leakage can be adjusted to eliminate the hold-down screw adjustment of the valve stem sealing packing, when the adjustment of the hold-down screw is invalid, the sealing packing must be replaced.
