Four-wire:

Because of factors such as cost and mature technical level, four-wire touch screen is almost the most basic production specification for touch screen practitioners. First of all, in terms of resistive touch screen technology, four-wire touch screen accounts for more than 50% of the market. It mainly consists of an ITOFilm conductive film and an indium tin oxide conductive glass ITO Glass, ITO Film and ITO Glass use a voltage of +5V after conduction (some manufacturers use a different voltage than +5V). In the middle of these two layers of conductive bodies, ITO Film and ITO Glass are separated by a spacer, in order to avoid malfunction caused by a short circuit when there is no touch.

The main working principle of the four-wire touch screen is to treat the lower and upper parts as Y-axis and X-axis coordinates respectively. Two conductive wires are installed on the edges of the ITO Film and ITO Glasses, and a fixed voltage is set at both ends to create a uniform electric field.

Because there is a Dot Spacer between the upper and lower parts, the upper and lower layers are insulated. If the panel is pressed with a pen, finger or other medium, the upper and lower layers will be in contact with each other, causing a short circuit and depressurization.

Five-wire:

The main composition of the five-wire type is basically the same as that of the four-wire type, and the ITO Film and ITO Glass are divided into two layers, and the voltage of +5V is still used after conduction. In the middle, the Spacer separates the upper and lower floors. The biggest difference between them is that the upper and lower layers of the four-wire system control two conductive wires on the X axis and two on the Y axis. The five-wire type is controlled by the lower conductive layer to control the four lines of the X axis and the Y axis.

The upper layer is solely responsible for measuring the voltage of the X and Y axes, and the voltage value it detects will be transmitted to the controller, and then the coordinates will be obtained, and the digital signal will be transmitted to the host computer after conversion. Because the upper layer is a uniform conductive Chen, any point can be responsible for the transmission of voltage work, compared with the four-wire touch screen, the four-wire product has high durability, and the five-wire type can maintain consistent accuracy and sensitivity in slightly harsh environments.

Eight-wire:

Strictly speaking, the eight-wire product is an extension of the four-wire product, because in order to avoid the impact of the environment or other peripheral equipment to cause the voltage reading value to have errors, so in addition to the upper and lower conductive layer 4 leads, a total of 8 reference wires are added, the purpose is to be able to read more actual voltage value to improve the accuracy of operation.
