Siemens China today officially launched the "Zero Carbon Pioneer Program", announcing the company's clear policy and action plan for low-carbon development. Siemens proposes to use digital innovation and cross-disciplinary knowledge and experience to work with all parties to create a green ecology in China, empower the creation of an end-to-end zero-carbon industrial chain, and help China complete the "dual carbon" policy. In the future, Siemens will continue to implement energy-saving actions in its own operations, strengthen lean and digital production, and promote carbon reduction. In addition, by 2025, Siemens will strive to assist more than 500 key suppliers in China to accelerate carbon reduction, help tens of thousands of customers in dozens of occupations to save energy and increase efficiency, and promote the green and low-carbon transformation of industry.

For its own operations, Siemens became the first major industrial company in the world to commit to carbon neutrality by 2030, long before the Paris Agreement was signed. From 2014 to 2020, Siemens China has made outstanding contributions to reducing the carbon footprint of Siemens' global operations by 54%. In the future, Siemens will continue to implement energy-saving actions in China, strengthen lean and digital production, and promote the process of carbon reduction. Siemens has carried out energy efficiency renovation and maintenance projects in 12 office parks and manufacturing plants, including energy efficiency improvements for HVAC and lighting systems, and will continue to promote such projects on a larger scale. At the same time, Siemens has implemented distributed rooftop PV systems in 14 campuses and manufacturing plants, and plans to add this system to more manufacturing plants. For the supply chain, Siemens has been continuously strengthening the evaluation of suppliers in terms of sustainable development, and plans to officially incorporate low-carbon related policies into the procurement resolution plan process in China since fiscal year 2022. At present, Siemens has established an emission reduction information management system covering nearly 9,000 suppliers in China, and assists key suppliers in promoting green transformation in seven areas: increasing power generation, on-site heat generation and power supply, purchasing green electricity, implementing energy-saving processes, optimizing logistics, reducing business travel, and applying recycled and recyclable materials. The company's policy is to reduce emissions by 20% in its global supply chain by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality in its supply chain by 2050.

Regarding the carbon neutrality of the future industrial chain, the actuarial calculation of the carbon footprint of industrial products is crucial. Siemens has launched a blockchain-based carbon footprint traceability project for industrial products in Chengdu Digital Factory, using blockchain and marginal accounting skills to accurately track the carbon footprint of the entire life cycle of controller products and complete the transparency of carbon footprints. In July this year, Siemens and JOMOO Group launched a strategic cooperation to complete the supply path planning for JOMOO under the policy of "carbon peak in 2026 and carbon neutrality in 2036", helping it build a global occupational green benchmark.
