The AIMB-229 supports 6 x USB 3.2 and 1 x PCIe x8 for high-speed integration of add-on cards and a variety of peripherals, including high-speed cameras, VR glasses, and other object capture solutions. The AIMB-229 leverages AMD Zen 2 x86 core architecture and innovative 7nm process technology to double the power conversion efficiency and TDP range from 10 to 54W to support effective computing power at the edge. Its low I/O height (20 mm) extends battery life and fits into compact medical imaging devices, while supporting multiple expansion interfaces – including M.2 M key for high-speed NVME storage and M.2 E for Wi-Fi connectivity. In addition, BIOS Secure Boot and TPM2.0 onboard support are integrated to ensure hardware-based security and protection from cybersecurity threats.
Enable remote control and management at the edge
The AIMB-229 is equipped with Advantech's WISE-DeviceOn to prevent system failures. WISE-DeviceOn provides a real-time hardware, software, and peripheral monitoring solution with real-time alert notifications. In addition, it provides an over-the-air (OTA) BIOS system that facilitates remote BIOS updates and a backup recovery mechanism to prevent unexpected outages and boot failures. The solution also uses the USB power on/off function to prevent unauthorized access and reboot the USB device without turning the power off. These features can effectively predict and pre-process faults, reduce maintenance costs, and improve IoT efficiency.
